Troubleshooting
If you're encountering an error with Origins-Reborn, first make sure you are on the latest version of both Origins-Reborn and all its plugins. Modrinth will always have the latest version of these.
If you're having an issue after making a custom origin, check for these common issues:
Commas, curly brackets, quotation marks and other similar characters in the wrong place.
An invalid icon id - try running the /give command with your icon id, for example
/give @s minecraft:feather
. If you get an error, your icon id is invalid. To find the right id, press F3 + H on your keyboard in Minecraft to enable 'advanced tooltips', and hover your mouse over an item in an inventory, and you'll see its id.
Invalid characters in file names. Only use lowercase letters a-z in file names, and end the file names with .json
For example,
arachnid.json
is valid,arachnid (1).json
orARACHNID.json
are not.If you want to use things such as capital letters and spaces in origin names, specify them in the "name" option in the origin file. Note that this space can only contain ASCII characters.
Invalid characters in names and descriptions. Only ASCII characters currently work in origin names and descriptions.
If you're still having trouble with something not working, ask for help in the Starshooter Discord server.
